Artemis-2 Sets New Record

The crew of the Artemis-2 mission has reached a maximum distance of 406,771 kilometers from Earth, setting a new record in the history of human spaceflights. This was reported by CBS News, referencing Canadian astronaut Jenny Gibbons.

It is noted that the recorded achievement exceeds the record set by the Apollo 13 mission in 1970 by 6,616 kilometers.

According to CBS News, the astronauts are now moving back toward Earth. Before the return phase, the crew managed to capture some images of Earth’s emergence, taking several snapshots of the view from space.

The Artemis-2 mission is considered one of the important phases of a new program aimed at the Moon. The data and experience gained during the mission are intended to be used for the preparation of future crewed flights.
