Claim for Seizure of 1.1 Billion AMD Worth of Property Against Relatives of Hovik Abrahamyan

The Anti-Corruption Court has accepted the case regarding the confiscation of illegally obtained property initiated by the Office of the Chief Prosecutor, concerning Hovik Abrahamyan, former Prime Minister of Armenia, and his relatives.

According to the announcement by the Prosecutor General's Office, one of the claims seeks the confiscation from former MP Henrik Argami Abrahamyan and associated individuals, in favor of the Republic of Armenia, of 13 real estate properties—12 located in the village of Mkhchyan in Artashat region, and 1 in the village of Marmarashen in Masis community—5 vehicles, participation in 2 legal entities, and approximately 270 million 840 thousand AMD as a remainder of illegally obtained monetary funds.

Another claim from the Prosecutor General’s Department for the confiscation of illegally obtained property demands that Vahan Zorik Mamikonyan, the former deputy prosecutor of the Shengavit community in Yerevan and former head of the State Revenue Committee division, along with associated individuals, return 8 real estate properties, of which 3 are in Mkhchyan village in Artashat region, 1 in the village of Marmarik in Kotayk region, 1 in the Central administrative district of Yerevan, and 3 in the village of Nshavan in Artashat region. This claim also includes 446 million 691 thousand AMD as a remainder of illegally obtained funds and 86 million 413 thousand AMD that cannot be justified by the individual’s legitimate income.

Additionally, there is a claim filed against Vladimir Felix Tamrazyan, who has held positions such as chief of the section in the customs service of the State Revenue Committee, deputy head of the Ararat Regional Customs, chief of the “Zvartnots” Customs at the Ministry of Finance, and head of the Western Customs Administration under the government. This claim demands the return of 3 vehicles, participation in 1 legal entity, and approximately 303 million 918 thousand AMD as a remainder of illegally obtained monetary funds.

It is noteworthy that on March 6, 2023, the Prosecutor General’s Office filed a lawsuit with the Anti-Corruption Court demanding the confiscation of 59 properties from Hovik Abrahamyan and his affiliates, of which 15 are located in Yerevan. This lawsuit also includes 4 vehicles, participation in 20 legal entities, properties sold at significantly lower market values amounting to approximately 1 billion 628 million 277 thousand AMD, and claims originating from loans granted to 8 companies amounting to 11 million 292 thousand 570 USD, 687 million AMD, and 3 million 117 thousand EUR, and an additional 21 billion 202 million AMD.
