Lavrov and Araqchi Discuss Key Issues in Phone Call

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergey Lavrov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Abbas Araqchi, have held a phone conversation. This was reported by the "APA" news agency.

It was noted that the conversation took place at the initiative of the Iranian side. The Russian side expressed hope for the success of efforts to reduce tensions around Iran by a number of countries, aiming for long-term and stable resolution of the situation in the Middle East.

It was emphasized that the abandonment of ultimatum language by the United States and the return of the situation to the negotiation table would contribute to these efforts. The ministers also called for avoiding actions that could undermine the existing possibilities for crisis resolution, including within the framework of the UN Security Council, and to advance political and diplomatic efforts.
