Iran Halts Gas Supplies to Turkey

Iran has halted gas supplies to Turkey following strikes by Israel on a major gas field in South Pars last week, Bloomberg reports citing sources. According to the agency, 14% of natural gas imported by Turkey in 2025 was sourced from Iran.

Sources indicate that Ankara continues to receive gas from Russia and Azerbaijan and also has reserves. The timeline for the resumption of supplies from Iran is still unknown.

The Turkish Ministry of Energy has not commented on the situation.

It is noteworthy that South Pars is a major oil and gas field covering about 9,700 square kilometers, where fires broke out at several facilities following the strikes by Israel and the U.S. on March 18.
