Galyan on Pashinyan's Statements
The legal sector is fully prepared, and currently, the political context is being developed. Efforts will continue with the council to ensure that no questions remain unaddressed. As mentioned by Minister of Justice Surbhi Galyan during a press briefing at the National Assembly regarding the new Constitution, the process is not static, and it will not be the case that the text will be published and that will be the end of it.
“We will publish texts or provisions to gauge public sentiment and to have discussions, meaning we will gather opinions, make changes, and these will also be discussed with the council. This is a dynamic process; the publication does not mean that work will end at that point, but rather it signifies that work will continue with a new pace,” she stated.
Referring to the comment about Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's statement that they are in favor of not including the Declaration of Independence in the Constitution, does it affect the council's opinion? The minister responded, “Let it not affect. Political statements are made; the Prime Minister is a political figure and has the right to declare what he sees fit. The council members are members of the council and have the right to express their opinions, including publicly,” she noted.
