The World is Descending into a Crazy Arms Race with Nuclear Weapons: Lukashenko

The world is descending into a new arms race, including nuclear weapons, and everything must be done to prevent a new global confrontation. This was stated by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

According to the report from the 'BelTA' agency, this statement was made during a solemn ceremony in Minsk, held at the Palace of Independence, where state awards and general epaulettes were presented to senior officers of the security forces.

In his speech, Lukashenko reminded that this year marks the 85th anniversary of the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War, noting that at that time the country faced a severe test, which the peoples of the USSR overcame at a great cost.

The Belarusian president emphasized that the lessons of history must be taken into account in the current international situation.
