Past Wounds Continue to Remain Open, We Have Chosen the Difficult Path of Reconciliation: Mirzoyan

Although the painful humanitarian consequences of the conflict are still subject to resolution, and the wounds of the distant and not-so-distant past remain open, we have chosen the difficult path of reconciliation. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, at the UN Human Rights Council.

“This is undoubtedly a complex process, considering that 19 Armenian detainees are still in Baku, there is a need to clarify the fates of missing persons, and to uncover cases of enforced disappearances, meanwhile distorted historical narratives continue to spread. Nevertheless, Armenia remains steadfastly committed to continuing this path towards a future-oriented resolution, with the understanding that further institutionalizing peace will create a more favorable environment for addressing the consequences of the conflict,” said Ararat Mirzoyan.
