Ten Immovable Properties Returned to the State in Syunik, Valued at 103 Million Drams
Under the leadership of the Attorney General of the Republic of Armenia, Anna Vardapetyan, the results of the Syunik region's prosecutor's office activities for 2025 were summarized on February 21, 2026, according to a statement from the prosecutor's office press service. Syunik Regional Prosecutor Masis Poghosyan, presenting the report on the prosecutor's office activities for 2025, indicated that 2,363 criminal cases were initiated (2,412 cases in 2024).
During the reporting period, 446 criminal cases involving 467 individuals were submitted to court based on the indictments approved by prosecutors (371 cases involving 398 individuals in 2024). In 2025, 405 criminal cases were concluded in courts, affecting 421 individuals (362 cases involving 379 individuals in 2024).
As a result of criminal proceedings, approximately 101 million drams were recovered in damages to the state in 2025. Focusing on the protection of state (community) interests, Masis Poghosyan reported that in 2025, properties totaling approximately 5 hectares across 10 immovable properties were returned to the Republic of Armenia or local communities, valued at 102 million 665 thousand drams.
In particular, based on lawsuits filed by the prosecutor's office, auctions concerning 8 land plots covering a total area of 4.91391 hectares in the Meghri community were declared invalid, and the consequences of nullity were applied. As a result of the ruling, the aforementioned 8 plots of land were returned to the Meghri community.
Through the authority to protect public (community) interests, the Syunik prosecutor's office also halted the construction rights previously granted on land plots of 190 square meters and 475 square meters allocated to two individuals, returning two plots totaling 665 square meters located in the Vazgen Sargsyan Park back to the Kapan community. The market-valued cadastral cost of the plots is 4 million 544 thousand drams.
Masis Poghosyan informed that during 2025, 11 out of 20 lawsuits filed by the prosecutor's office concerning the protection of public (community) interests were granted. The total amount of the rewarded claims is 128 million 283 thousand drams. Nine lawsuits are currently in process, one of which amounts to 1 billion 329 million 807 thousand drams.
Anna Vardapetyan provided a series of directives to the Syunik region's prosecutor and prosecutors aimed at enhancing efforts to protect state and community interests, as well as preventing and uncovering crimes.
