Orban Threatens to Halt Electricity Supply to Ukraine
Following Serbia, Hungary: Prime Minister Viktor Orban of Hungary has warned Ukraine that he may decide to stop supplying electricity to the country if it does not resume the transit of Russian oil through the 'Druzhba' pipeline.
Orban noted that Slovakia has already raised this issue. He recalled that in response to Ukraine's hostile actions, Hungary had stopped supplying diesel fuel and decided to block the EU's €90 billion 'war fund'.
“There is another issue that I am currently examining closely. A significant portion of Ukraine's electricity comes from Hungary, and if we stop that supply, there could be serious problems there. The Slovaks raised this issue yesterday, and if necessary, we will also take this step,” Orban stated.
