Medal Winners of the Armenian Weightlifting Championship Announced

The Armenian Weightlifting Championship has concluded at the Sports Management Center, with a total of 110 weightlifters participating. The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports reports that on the final competition day, February 15, the champions and medalists in the 94 kg, 110 kg, and +110 kg weight categories have been announced.

In the men’s +110 kg category, Varazdat Lalayan won the championship title with a total lift of 440 kg, while Simon Martirosyan took home the silver medal with a lift of 405 kg, and Ashot Movsesyan rounded out the podium with a total of 377 kg. The winners in this weight category were also awarded by the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Hasmik Avagyan.

In the 110 kg category, Garik Karapetyan became the champion, achieving a total of 380 kg, while Ara Aghanyan claimed victory in the 94 kg category with a total lift of 370 kg.

Earlier, champions were already crowned in the 60 kg category: Garnik Cholakyan with a total lift of 272 kg, in the 65 kg category: Zhora Grigoryan with 254 kg, in the 71 kg category: Gor Sahakyan with 330 kg, in the 79 kg category: Martin Poghosyan with 337 kg, and in the 88 kg category: Rafik Harutyunyan with 350 kg.
