Changes to the Procedure for Handling the Armenian Flag: Pashinyan

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed the attitude towards the state flag during the latest government session.

“We take the flag somewhere, plant it, say we did a good deed, and then it wears out or gets wrinkled, and nobody cares. I had the occasion to say that when I faced the attitude towards the flag in the state administration system, it was surprising to me that my reaction was astonishing to many. I saw a flag thrown on the ground in a state body and made very strict decisions related to it, and it turned out that the opinion on that decision was not as unanimous as I had thought. Now we already have amendments in the Code of Administrative Offences regarding violations of the procedures related to the state flag. I propose that we make certain changes in our conduct. I ask that we familiarize ourselves with the text and inform the relevant protocol services that participants in the events should be informed, and that what is written does not simply remain on paper,” said Nikol Pashinyan.
