Kyiv Faces Challenging Days Ahead, Warns Klitschko
The upcoming days will be very challenging for Kyiv, warned the mayor of Ukraine's capital, Vitali Klitschko. Severe frosts are expected in the capital, particularly during the night hours.
Earlier, Ukraine's Ministry of Energy announced that residents of Kyiv are currently receiving one and a half to two hours of electricity daily. The situation in Ukraine's energy system remains extremely complicated, according to the Ministry of Energy, which summarized the results of the meeting of the emergency response headquarters regarding the aftermath of emergencies in Kyiv and the region.
“The enemy has attacked energy facilities in several sectors. Due to damage to high-voltage substations, nuclear power plants have been forced to reduce their load. Currently, emergency outages continue to operate in most districts,” the Ministry of Energy stated.
The ministry warns that “the loss of electricity caused by nighttime attacks has created a significant additional deficit in energy supply, which is extremely difficult to close, thus the upcoming days will be tough.”
