Trump to Offer Deal to Iran Similar to Venezuela, Pushkov Says
Russian Senator Alexey Pushkov believes that U.S. President Donald Trump will propose a certain deal to Iran, similar to what he did after the abduction of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.
“Some users on Telegram, for some reason, think that the U.S. strike on Iran will inevitably lead to a 'second Vietnam' and that Trump will 'get bogged down' in a large war in the Middle East. However, this a priori reasoning is based on a cliché that has little support in the current situation... In order to avoid such a war, the danger of which he is well aware of, Trump will likely limit himself to showing force in the form of limited missile strikes and then offer a certain deal to the Iranian leadership, just as he already proposed to the Venezuelan leadership after Maduro's abduction,” the senator wrote on Telegram.
