Armenian Government Works on Organizing Treatment for Gaza Children
The Deputy Permanent Representative of the Republic of Armenia to the United Nations, Zhirayr Ananyan, addressed the open discussion of the UN Security Council titled "Situation in the Middle East."
During his speech, Ananyan highlighted the contribution of Armenian peacekeepers in the temporary peacekeeping mission deployed in Lebanon (UNIFIL). He also noted that the Armenian government is working with the World Health Organization to organize treatment for dozens of children from Gaza in Armenian medical institutions.
It was emphasized that Armenia welcomes UN Security Council Resolution 2803, adopted on November 17, 2025, concerning Gaza, and as a founding member, has signed the Charter of the Peace Council, reaffirming Armenia's principled commitment to post-conflict stabilization, reconstruction, and strengthening peace, highlighting the readiness of Armenia to actively engage within the framework of the Peace Council.
In his remarks, Ananyan also underscored Armenia’s consistent support for the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of its friendly neighbor Syria, adding that the post-conflict recovery and peace-building process carried out under Syrian leadership is of crucial importance for ensuring lasting peace in the country.
