Trump's Demands are About Iran’s Surrender Without Conflict: Vardan Voskanian

In the current phase of the Iran-U.S. conflict, it is clear that President Trump's demands are essentially about Iran's surrender without military engagement, which will never happen. Furthermore, without prolonged and bloody ground operations with an uncertain outlook, it is impossible to bring Iran to its knees. This was stated by Iranian studies expert Vardan Voskanian on his social media page.

“The President of the United States has created a situation from which a brief and impressive military operation is highly questionable, if not entirely impossible. Certainly, the U.S. could carry out a few symbolic strikes aimed at preserving face and then end the ‘war’ with a social media post. However, Iranian military and political figures at almost all levels insist that this time there will be no local small war; rather, any attack on this country will lead to major instability across the entire region.

There is no doubt that Iran has the capacity to turn any potential local confrontation into a large-scale regional war and instability. This is one factor that prompts Turkey and several Arab nations to increase diplomatic pressure on Washington to prevent such clashes, while simultaneously compelling President Trump to weigh the consequences very carefully,” he wrote.
