Rally in Support of Palestine Takes Place in London

Tens of thousands of people have gathered in central London for the traditional rally in support of Palestine, known as the "National March for Palestine," reports a correspondent from RIA Novosti. The event is organized by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign and a number of groups opposing Israel’s actions and the supply of arms to the UK, including "Stop the War."

Participants began to gather at Russell Square in central London at noon local time, then marched through the city. Many protesters carried Palestinian flags and banners calling for humanitarian organizations to have full access to Gaza, opposing "ethnic cleansing" in Palestine, and denouncing the presence of nuclear weapons in Israel.

Organizers had previously stated that "Israel's genocide against Palestine has not ceased," despite the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. Protesters shouted "Stop arming Israel" and "Keir Starmer (Prime Minister of the UK - ed.), you cannot hide, we accuse you of genocide."

Jewish groups and associations of Holocaust survivors opposing Israeli actions also participated in the protest. Some attendees carried flags of Iran and Venezuela. A group of pro-Israel supporters gathered along the route of the march, holding the flags of the Jewish state, the UK, and monarchist Iran. Police and organizers of the two protests formed a chain to separate them.
