Limits on MRIs Reimbursement Cases, Says Anahit Avanesyan
In the health insurance package, there is no annual maximum threshold, meaning there are no maximum limits on the amount spent on an individual during the year. This was reported by Armenia's Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan during a discussion in the National Assembly regarding issues in the health insurance system.
According to her, there is also no threshold for receiving services under general quantitative insurance; however, there are case limits for specific services. As an example, she noted that MRI studies are reimbursed only twice a year in an outpatient setting, and additional cases fall outside the insurance package.
The same limitation applies to consultations with narrow specialists. The minister added that there are certain thresholds for services, as well as established reimbursement rates, and costs exceeding those limits for specific services will not be reimbursed.
