Konstantinov Calls UN Secretary General's Comments on Crimea's Self-Determination False

Crimea and Donbas had the full right to self-determination, and the statement by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres regarding this issue was false, according to Vladimir Konstantinov, the chairman of the Crimean parliament.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Russia had approached the UN to inquire whether it could recognize the peoples of Donbas, Novorossiya, and Crimea's right to self-determination, similar to that in Greenland.

In response, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres announced that the UN Office of Legal Affairs concluded that the principle of self-determination does not apply to the situations in Crimea and Donbas, as the principle of territorial integrity prevails there.
