Venezuelan Army Swears Allegiance to President Rodriguez
The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) and Venezuela's civil security agencies have officially sworn allegiance to the country's president, Delcy Rodriguez, who has taken on the powers of Supreme Commander.
"We recognize absolute obedience and take an oath of loyalty to citizen Delcy Rodriguez Gomez as the authorized president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, our Supreme Commander," said FANB Supreme Commander Vladimir Padrino Lopez.
The ceremony took place at the Venezuelan Military Academy, located in the Fort Tiuna complex in Caracas. During the event, Rodriguez received the insignia of the Supreme Commander, including the scepter of the Bolivarian National Army, a symbol of authority, responsibility, and military leadership, along with the sword of liberator Simon Bolivar, which represents the historical symbol of the country's independence and sovereignty.
Following the ceremony, FANB units marched in honor of the incumbent president.
