EU Expands Drone Export Ban to Iran
The EU has expanded the ban on the export of components and technologies used in the development of drones and missiles to Iran, according to a statement published on the EU Council's website.
"The EU Council has decided to extend the prohibition on the export, sale, transfer, or supply of additional components and technologies used in the development and production of unmanned aerial vehicles and missiles to Iran," the document states.
It clarifies that this ban pertains to specific materials and their related equipment, including energetic materials and their mixtures, material processing equipment, electronics, computers, telecommunications and information security, sensors and lasers, navigation and aviation equipment, aerospace and propulsion systems, as well as technologies designed or specifically adapted for the testing, development, or production of unmanned aerial vehicles and missiles.
