Currently, Efforts Are Underway to Prevent a Full-Scale War in Our Region: Araqchi

“Several countries are currently trying to prevent a full-scale war from breaking out in our region. None of them are European,” wrote Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi in a post on his X page after receiving calls from colleagues in various countries against the backdrop of rising regional tensions.

“Instead, Europe is busy stoking the fire. Following the US’s demand for a 'rapid return,' it is now allowing another major strategic blunder by classifying our National Army as a supposed 'terrorist organization,'” he added, referring to the European Union's decision to label the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

“Setting aside the obvious hypocrisy of its selective outrage, failing to take any action in response to the genocide carried out by Israel in Gaza, and yet rushing to 'defend human rights' regarding Iran, this public relations trick from Europe mainly aims to mask the fact that it is a seriously declining actor,” the minister stated.

“Furthermore, as the continent will undoubtedly suffer greatly from a full-scale war in our region, including the consequences of rising energy prices, the EU's current stance deeply harms its own interests,” he added. “Europeans deserve better than what their governments are offering,” he concluded.
