20-Page Conclusion: 'Hraparak'

20-Page Conclusion: 'Hraparak'

As the parliamentary session began in January, both the ruling majority and the opposition once again discussed the report of the commission investigating the circumstances of the 44-day war. This is reported by the newspaper 'Hraparak'.

“It is known that the report is not being published under the pretext of missing deadlines, while in reality a political decision has been made not to bring the painful story of 2020 back to the arena. However, it is noteworthy that during last week’s session, Vaheghn Aleksanyan from the ruling party proposed to the head of the commission, Andranik Kocharyan, to hold hearings related to the report. Apparently, the government has decided to use the hearings for electoral purposes, seizing the opportunity to blame the former officials, who are accused of having 'plundered the army'. However, Andranik Kocharyan has not been convinced, as he previously opposed the idea of holding hearings, stating that if there are hearings, it means there is no report, and if there is a report, it should be submitted to the National Assembly.

It is also possible that instead of hearings, they will release the conclusions of the report, which is about 20 pages long and provides summarized assessments of the events that occurred,” the newspaper writes.
