Rescuers Extract Driver from Vehicle with Special Equipment
On January 25, at 18:18, a call was received at the Crisis Management Center of the Vayots Dzor Regional Rescue Service, reporting an accident on the road from the junction of Jermuk to the village of Saravan, with casualties. Rescuers were needed on the scene.
A team from the fire-rescue squad of the National Emergency Situations Service was dispatched. It was found that a Scania bus and a Mercedes-Benz vehicle collided at the 149th kilometer of the Yerevan-Meghri highway, trapping the driver of the latter.
Rescuers de-energized the Mercedes-Benz vehicle, closed the gas cylinder valve, and used special equipment to dismantle the vehicle, extracting the driver and bringing them close to the ambulance. The driver was subsequently hospitalized at a medical center.
