US Officials Explain Importance of Control Over Greenland

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessenet announced that Washington considers control over Greenland important to prevent potential future conflicts. He presented this position during a speech at the World Economic Forum held in Davos.

Bessenet stated that President Donald Trump believes Greenland should be part of the United States to reduce security risks. According to the Secretary, this issue is viewed from a strategic perspective.

He also mentioned that Trump sees Greenland as necessary for the effective deployment of the anti-missile defense system known as the Golden Dome. Bessenet assessed that this system plays a crucial role in ensuring national security.
