Trump Will Not Attend G7 Summit in Paris
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, is not planning to visit Paris this week to participate in the G7 extraordinary summit proposed by his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron. This was announced by a spokesperson for the White House, according to CNN.
Macron made this proposal in an SMS message to Trump, which the American president later shared on social media. “I can organize a G7 meeting after Davos in Paris on Thursday at noon. I can invite the Ukrainians, the Danes, the Syrians, and the Russians to the event,” wrote Macron.
In the same message, the French president also suggested organizing a dinner before Trump returns to Washington.
Meanwhile, Reuters reports that Macron confirmed he does not plan to extend his stay in Davos until Wednesday, the day of Trump’s arrival. “I do not need to change my schedule,” he said, adding that his departure this evening was already planned.
