Russia's Interior Ministry Proposes Extension of Foreign Passenger Carriers' Stay Period
The Russian Interior Ministry has prepared a draft government decision proposing to extend the stay period for international carriers from visa-free countries in the Russian Federation to 180 days within a calendar year, according to the official spokesperson of the Ministry, Irina Volk.
“To ensure the uninterruptedness of international transport, the Russian Interior Ministry has prepared a draft government decision proposing to extend the temporary stay period for foreign nationals involved in international road transport to 180 days within a calendar year,” she wrote on her Telegram channel.
Volk added that the stay period for these foreign citizens will be extended if they submit an electronic application for entry and residence in the Russian Federation. The Ministry emphasized that if such an application is not submitted, the temporary stay period for foreign drivers will be calculated in the usual manner (generally 90 days within a calendar year).
