Pashinyan Awarded the 'Zayed' Human Brotherhood Prize 2026

The 'Zayed' Prize for Human Brotherhood today announced the laureates for 2026. This was reported by the government of Armenia. The prize committee has recognized the agreement on the establishment of peace and inter-state relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan as a significant achievement in the ongoing process of peace, dialogue, conflict resolution, and relationship normalization between the two countries. It emphasizes that reconciliation is not a one-time action, but rather a continuous and deliberate path.

The Secretary-General of the 'Zayed' Prize for Human Brotherhood, Mohamed Abdel Salam, highlighted Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's persistent, consistent, and principled efforts towards establishing and strengthening peace. The award will be presented to Prime Minister Pashinyan in February in Abu Dhabi.

The 2026 laureates were selected by an independent, global-level judging panel comprised of recognized figures and experts in dialogue and coexistence. Panel members include the former President of the European Council and former Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Belgium, His Excellency Charles Michel; former President of the African Union Commission and former Prime Minister of the Republic of Chad, His Excellency Moussa Faki Mahamat; the Prefect of the Vatican's Department of Culture and Education, His Eminence Cardinal José Tolentino de Mendonça; Executive Director of UNICEF, Catherine Russell; Chief of Staff to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Saida Mirziyoyeva; and the Secretary-General of the 'Zayed' Prize for Human Brotherhood, His Excellency Judge Mohamed Abdel Salam.

It is also noted that President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has been recognized with this award.
