NATO's Eight Countries Issue Joint Statement in Response to Trump's Threats

US President Donald Trump's threats to impose trade tariffs on several European countries are undermining transatlantic relations and creating a dangerous risk of escalation. This is stated in a joint statement issued by the United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway, Finland, France, and Sweden. The text was released by the press service of the German government.

"We express our full solidarity with the Kingdom of Denmark and the people of Greenland. Based on the process that began last week, we are ready to engage in dialogue grounded on the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity, which we firmly uphold," the statement reads.

The statement emphasizes that EU countries are committed to strengthening security in the Arctic. The Arctic Resilience exercises, conducted in cooperation with allies led by Denmark, address this need. They pose no threat to anyone.
