After Two-Year Hiatus, the Return of Prisoners Opens New Opportunities: Siranush Sahakyan

Human rights defender Siranush Sahakyan noted that the return of four Armenian prisoners after a two-year hiatus inspires hope that the process could be continuous.

She emphasized that the release of prisoners is significantly dependent on political factors and occurs as a result of specific agreements and negotiations. According to Sahakyan, if the issue is not resolved purely on legal grounds, the only viable option for their return remains the direct involvement of state authorities and political dialogue.
