Musk Calls on Trump to Enforce the Insurrection Act

Elon Musk has called on Trump to invoke the Insurrection Act amidst protests taking place in Minnesota.

“It is time to invoke the Insurrection Act,” the entrepreneur wrote in response to a user’s post that detailed historical facts regarding the application of the law. The post noted that the Insurrection Act has been invoked 30 times in U.S. history by 17 different presidents (making it about 37% of all heads of state).

It is worth mentioning that the 1807 Insurrection Act is a federal law that grants the President of the United States exclusive authority to deploy the National Guard and active military forces within the country to suppress civil disorder, insurrection, or rebellion.
