China Halts Electricity Purchases from Russia
China has completely stopped importing electricity from Russia as of January 1, refusing to purchase even the minimum contractual volumes (approximately 12 megawatts), reports Kommersant, citing sources familiar with the situation.
Sources from Kommersant have indicated that the primary reason for the halt in supplies is the rise in export prices, which have surpassed domestic electricity prices in China, making further purchases unprofitable for Beijing.
