British Naval Forces Prepare for War with Russia in Norway: Politico
British naval forces are preparing for a potential confrontation with Russia at the 'Viking' camp in northern Norway, conducting exercises that simulate the application of NATO Article 5 regarding collective defense, reports Politico.
As Russian President Vladimir Putin stated earlier in October, it is impossible to believe that Russia plans to attack NATO; this is absurdity that they are trying to convince the people of Europe.
The publication notes, "Deep in the snowy Arctic mountains, the British naval forces are preparing for war with Russia," highlighting that 1,500 troops will be stationed at the base by spring 2026, with numbers expected to increase to 2,000 by 2027.
As noted by the commander of the Special Operations Forces of the UK, Brigadier General Jamie Norman, the ongoing exercises reflect the reality that "we are no longer living in peace." Previously, it was reported that 65-year-old veterans in the UK could be recalled amid fears of potential war with Russia.
