A New State Fee for Exporting Cultural Values from Armenia to Be Established

The government made a decision at its meeting today to establish a new state fee for the export of cultural values from Armenia. In this regard, relevant amendments will be made to the Republic of Armenia's law on state duties, enabling the complete inclusion of customs operations related to cultural values as defined by the EAEU customs legislation.

The adoption of the project will align the types of duties with the approved EAEU regulations and is also expected to enhance the efficiency of administration. "The adoption of legislative changes is also driven by the necessity to regulate the foreign trade of cultural values that hold significant importance for Armenia, as well as the need to oversee exports and imports," the justification for the project states.

It is noted that there is currently no distinction between the customs regimes in the area of exporting cultural values. This project will allow for such a distinction to be implemented.
