Father's Detention Extended in the Case of 3-Year-Old Tigran's Death in Tsapatagh
In Tsapatagh, the father of 3-year-old Tigran, Armen Ovanesov, remains in custody in connection with the murder of his son. The criminal case is being heard by the judge Artavazd Karapetyan of the general jurisdiction court in the Gegharkunik region, as reported by Pashtinfo.
During preliminary hearings, the court decided to keep the chosen preventive measure of detention unchanged and extended its duration by another three months. It is worth noting that on November 2, the body of 3-year-old Tigran Ovanesov was discovered in an area adjoining Tsapatagh. The child had been missing since October 27, and there were signs of violence on the body, including on the head region.
The prosecuting authority posits that the child's father suffocated him, and it seems that the child's brother, who has a speech impairment, witnessed the murder and indicated the neck during a conversation with psychologists. Criminal proceedings have been initiated against the father under Article 155, Parts 2, Sections 3, 5, and 9 of the Criminal Code (murder), and he has been arrested.
According to the Minister of Internal Affairs, the father moved the body to places where “cleansing” activities had already taken place. The father stated that the incident occurred over family-related issues.
