China Bans Use of American and Israeli Cybersecurity Programs

The Chinese government has directed national companies to cease the use of cybersecurity software developed by several dozen American and Israeli firms, citing national security concerns. This is reported by Reuters.

According to the source, among the banned American companies are VMware, owned by Broadcom, as well as Palo Alto Networks and Fortinet. Included on the list of Israeli companies is Check Point Software Technologies.

Reuters has not been able to determine how many Chinese firms have already received the corresponding notifications, which, according to sources, were sent in recent days. It is noted that Chinese officials have expressed concerns that the software mentioned in the directive could gather and transmit confidential data to foreign entities.
