Road Conditions in Armenia

The Rescue Service reports that there are closed roads across Armenia. The roads from the "Amberd" high-altitude meteorological station in the Aragatsotn Province to the Amberd Fortress and the K'ari Lake are closed. The roads in the Aparan region, along with the Vardenyats, K'eti, and Jajur mountain passes (due to blizzard), are closed for trucks with trailers. The roads in the Ashotsk region and the Spitak bends are difficult to navigate for trucks with trailers.

Snowfall has been reported in the regions of Artashat, Ararat, Yeghegnadzor, Vayk, Sisian, Meghri, Talin, Ani, Artik, Akhuryan, Ashotsk (due to blizzard), Ashtarak, Aparan, Aragats, Spitak, Abovyan, Hrazdan, Sevan, Gavar, Martuni, Vardenis, and in the Dilijan bends. In the Aparan, Aragats, Sevan, Jambarak, Martuni, Gavar, Abovyan, Hrazdan, Nairi, Goris, Ashotsk, and Amasia regions, there are patches of black ice on the roads.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia urges drivers to travel only with winter tires. According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of Russia's North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed to all types of vehicles.
