Reports of Abdan City Capture Denied: Tensions Rise in Iran

Iranian news agencies Tasnim and Mehr have denied reports from Western media stating that protesters have captured the city of Abdan and the Malekshahi district in the western province of Ilam of the Islamic Republic.

Earlier, Fox News reported that protesters had taken control of Malekshahi and Abdan. “After several tense hours in Malekshahi and following a clash with armed individuals that resulted in the death of a security staff member, the situation has now fully stabilized due to the presence of security forces,” Tasnim's report stated.
