Enhanced Monitoring: 748 Traffic Accidents in Last 3 Days, Ministry of Internal Affairs

In order to ensure the safety of all road participants, the Patrol Service continues its enhanced monitoring and strict regulation on the country's roads. This was noted by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Narek Sargsyan.

“In just the last 3 days, the patrol service has checked 5,131 vehicles, with administrative violation reports issued for 550 of them for using non-winter tires, as well as for driving with winter tires that do not meet the established standards. The patrol service employees have also examined the tires of vehicles involved in traffic accidents.

During the last 3 days, there have been 748 traffic accidents in the republic, the vast majority of which have resulted in material damage. Only 28 out of the 1,454 vehicles involved in these incidents were found to have summer tires.

The patrol service is also cooperating with local governments, providing information to partners regarding the presence of black ice and the need for necessary cleaning efforts. The Ministry of Internal Affairs urges the public to adhere to traffic rules and operate vehicles exclusively with winter tires. Strict regulation will continue,” Sargsyan stated.
