“I have decided to declare a seven-day mourning in honor, glory, and gratitude to the young men and women who sacrificed their lives defending Venezuela and President Nicolas Maduro,” announced the acting President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodriguez.

She stated that the authorities consider the fallen youths as martyrs who died protecting the country from external aggression, fighting for the highest values of the republic. Rodriguez emphasized that internal peace must be maintained in Venezuela and once again urged for an end to the pressures and attacks on the republic.
