We Don't Need Venezuelan Oil: Rubio

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, following the detention of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, asserted that the United States does not need Venezuelan oil, but they will not allow its control to fall into the hands of adversaries.

"We don’t need Venezuelan oil. We have plenty of our own oil here in the United States. What we will not allow is for the Venezuelan oil industry to be controlled by the enemies of the United States. Why do China, Russia, and Iran need Venezuelan oil? They aren't even on this continent. This is the Western Hemisphere. This is where we live," Rubio stated in an interview with NBC.
