NATO will defend Greenland from the US. This was stated by the Danish Prime Minister to Trump.

“I must sincerely say this to the US. It is completely absurd to talk about the US wanting to merge Greenland. The US has no right to merge any of the three cooperative countries. The Kingdom of Denmark, and therefore Greenland, is part of NATO and is thus under Denmark's security guarantees. We already have a defense agreement between the Kingdom and the US, which allows extensive access to Greenland. Furthermore, we, on behalf of the Kingdom, have made significant investments in Arctic security.

Therefore, I urge the US to cease making threats against a historically close ally, as well as against another country and another people, who have clearly stated that they are not for sale,” said Frederiksen.
