Trump Expresses Hope for Peace Agreement Between Ukraine and Russia Soon
US President Donald Trump believes that a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia will be reached "at some point." He also expressed hope that this will occur "in the near future."
Trump reminded reporters of the military losses in Ukraine's war. "So, I don’t know if you’ve seen the published numbers. This month, 30,000 soldiers have died. And there was an intelligence report of 30,000 back 27 months ago," said the American leader.
At the same time, Trump avoided giving a direct answer to the question about additional sanctions against Russia, which he reportedly discussed with Senator Lindsey Graham. "We constantly discuss their sanctions. I think it’s not very interesting to talk to him. Except when we’re talking about legislation," he said. "And we are constantly talking about legislation. Do you think this is an interesting relationship? It’s not. But we talk a lot about legislation, and we have some great legislation on the way," the US president added.
