A Classic Example of the Overthrow of Constitutional Order: Arthur Vanetsyan

The recent attempt to allegedly reform the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church can be evaluated as a classic example of the overthrow of constitutional order, which I believe the law enforcement system should address. This was stated by the former Director of the National Security Service and the President of the "Homeland" party, Arthur Vanetsyan, on his Facebook page.

"But I would like to emphasize an important point in all this. N.P. has realized, after numerous unsuccessful attempts, that it is beyond his capability to remove the Catholicos at 'lightning' speed and dismantle one of the oldest structures of the Armenian spiritual-national order. Therefore, he resorts to the well-known old method of obscuring his latest failure with unclear and illegitimate commissions and coordinating councils.

Aside from this, by creating them, N.P. officially starts the process of splitting the Armenian Apostolic Church and, as the de facto head of the government, bears direct responsibility for all possible consequences.

Our Apostolic Holy Church has gone through even more difficult trials and struggles, and I am confident it will come out of this one with honor.

That is why I respectfully urge His Holiness the Catholicos to appeal to the faithful nation to fully support our Holy Church and to at least dismiss the usurpers at this stage.
