Vocational Schools to be Renamed as Colleges
The Armenian government has made a significant change to the model charter of the state vocational educational institutions, based on the requirements of the new law on vocational education and training, which will come into effect on June 24, 2024.
According to this new regulation, the terms 'school' and 'vocational school' will be replaced with a single designation: 'college.' These institutions will be able to implement both craft and intermediate vocational education programs.
Following the official publication of the government decision, the charters of the organizations providing vocational educational programs will be amended within a six-month period, and all currently operating vocational schools will be renamed as colleges.
