No Lands Will Be Granted to the Mother See as Freehold Property

The government is proposing amendments to the land code. From now on, municipal and state lands will be granted to the Mother See for the construction and maintenance of churches, not as freehold property, but solely with the right of gratuitous use.

This decision is set to be approved by the government tomorrow. The draft has been developed by the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia.

It is noted that the draft stems from the Government of the Republic of Armenia's 2021-2026 action program, emphasizing the need for targeted and efficient use of land and water resources, with the main objective being to enhance the efficiency of land use.
