US Justifies Nuclear Force Modernization, Says China's Foreign Ministry
During a press briefing today, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jieyang stated that the US is seeking excuses to justify the modernization of its nuclear forces while undermining global strategic stability, by speculating about China's intercontinental ballistic missiles.
Reuters, referencing a draft report prepared by the US Department of Defense, previously reported that China has deployed more than 100 intercontinental ballistic missiles near its border with Mongolia.
“Such speculations by the US are part of a consistent tactic aimed at finding excuses to accelerate its nuclear force modernization and disrupt global strategic stability,” Lin Jieyang asserted.
