Manipulation by the 'Shapeists Movement': The Thieves from the People Talk About Poverty, Torosyan

Dear compatriots, today I want to address the latest manipulation by the infamous 'Shapeists Movement' created by a well-known Russian oligarch, which claims that we have not been able to reduce poverty in the Republic of Armenia. This movement has actually contributed to the deepening of poverty through the electrical networks of Armenia, essentially stealing from each of us by organizing tenders at high prices, renting out some incomprehensible machines, etc., making additions to our meters, and now they talk about some poverty that we have not been able to reduce, which, by the way, is completely the opposite and I will prove this to you now. This was stated by the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Arsen Torosyan in a video released today.

"First, I want to talk about the figures concerning extreme poverty. The same applies to ordinary poverty, but extreme poverty is one of the most important indicators, which we recorded at 6% lower than the entire population in 2024 compared to 2023, 2022, and 2021, and I am confident that we will have much better indicators in 2025,” he said.

Earlier, we reported that poverty in Georgia has decreased by 2.4% in one year. This was stated by Narek Karapetyan, coordinator of the 'Our Way' movement, on Facebook.
