Armenia to Import 700 Tons of Chinese Graphitized Electrodes Annually Duty-Free

According to a decision by the Eurasian Economic Commission, Armenia will be able to import 700 tons of Chinese graphitized electrodes annually without paying anti-dumping duties. This information was reported by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia.

“The corresponding decision of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission has established an anti-dumping duty on graphitized electrodes of Chinese origin, classified under the EAEU TN VED sub-code 8545 11 002 0. This includes circular cross-sections with a diameter greater than 520 mm but not exceeding 650 mm, and rectangular cross-sections with a surface area greater than 2700 cm² but not exceeding 3300 cm², intended for use in furnaces,” the statement read.

The agency reports that the aforementioned exemption will be valid for a period of five years. It is noted that the duty-free import will be granted to economic entities only upon presentation of a conclusion from the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, confirming the targeted purpose of the imported specific goods.

On December 20, the Ministry of Economy introduced a bill banning the import of ferrous metals. According to Trading Economics, the overall import volume to Armenia rose to $1.193.6 billion in October, compared to $980.2 million in September 2025.
