Ukraine Receives Last Tranche of 2025 Financial Aid from European Commission
The European Commission (EC) has sent the last tranche of financial aid for 2025 to Ukraine, amounting to €2.3 billion. This support comes from the assistance fund. Olaf Jihl, an EC representative, announced this during a briefing in Brussels, as reported by TASS.
“Today, the European Commission has transferred the sixth tranche to Kyiv, amounting to €2.3 billion. This financial assistance will help support the operations of the Ukrainian state,” he stated.
According to Jihl, throughout the year, Ukraine received a total of six tranches from the EC fund, totaling €26.8 billion.
On December 19, EU member states reached an agreement to provide Ukraine with a zero-interest loan of €90 billion for the years 2026-2027. This decision was made as an alternative to using frozen Russian assets. On December 20, Politico reported, citing senior EC officials, that European countries would be paying approximately €3 billion per year in interest on the loans raised for financing Ukraine.
