Trump Could Face Impeachment, Says Mike Johnson

U.S. President Donald Trump could face impeachment if the Republican Party loses its majority in the U.S. Congress after the midterm elections in 2026. This was stated by House Speaker Mike Johnson during a speech at an event organized by Turning Point USA.

“Everything is at stake in the 2026 midterm elections. If we lose the majority in the House of Representatives, the radical left, as you've heard, will impeach President Trump. They will create absolute chaos, and we cannot allow that,” said Republican Mike Johnson at the Turning Point USA event.

Currently, Republicans control both the House of Representatives and the Senate. The U.S. midterm elections will take place in early November 2026. According to Decision Desk HQ, Democrats currently have a slight advantage in national polling, with 45.6% compared to 40.2%.
